Do you find yourself dedicating a lot of time to managing your finances wishing you could be spending your time on other aspects of your work?
Would you like to off-load some of these tasks to someone else but don’t have the resources to employ someone?
I am a qualified AAT bookkeeper who provides bookkeeping support for local charities, artists and arts organisations and independent local businesses in the North East.
Having worked in both the arts and VCSE (voluntary, community and social enterprise) sector for over 25 years, I know first-hand how it feels to oversee all aspects of running a small organisation, from budgeting, project planning and delivery, marketing, fundraising, governance, and financial management.
Being on top of the finances is a critical part of any business, but for many it can feel daunting and is time-consuming.I can save you time and money by working flexibly according to your needs. This could be on an ad hoc basis, hourly, weekly, monthly or quarterly and all at a fraction of the cost it would be to employ someone.

ABOUT ME

Born in Newcastle, my family moved to the South when I was young. In 2015 I returned to the North East with my husband and young family, in order for us all to have a better quality of life.

I have spent my working life in the arts, spending 23 years of it at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London, producing national and international dance tours – specifically Breakin’ Convention, the international festival of hip hop dance theatre. Within my varied and extensive responsibilities, I have always been responsible for securing and managing large budgets.

Since 2019, I have managed the local mental health charity, Heart Wood, founded by my husband, a person-centred therapist. Heart Wood provides men living with long term poor mental health group therapy sessions in local woodland – an alternative to the traditional forms of therapy which they are unable to engage with. Having learnt on the job founding a charity from scratch, I have an understanding of everything that entails, with the financial management and reporting being a critical part of the work.

After working remotely for 10 years, I resigned from Sadler’s Wells in 2025 and - having always enjoyed the budgeting and financial management aspects in my work - gained my bookkeeping qualification, in order that I can share my knowledge and support local organisations and people.
